Emphasizing the importance of handing over nuclear technology to the new generation, Science and Technology Minister Yafes Osman said, “We are very proud to build a nuclear power plant in Bangladesh as planned by Russia. It is very important to pass on nuclear technology to the new generation.The minister was speaking after a high-level Bangladeshi delegation met with senior Rosatom officials in Moscow to discuss training in Russia for experts at the Rooppur nuclear power plant.A high-level delegation comprising representatives of the Bangladesh Ministry of Science and Technology, Atomic Energy Commission, Manager of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant and Bangladesh Embassy recently visited Rosatom Technical Academy and held a discussion meeting on the subject.The delegation was led by Yafes Osman, Minister of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, and Russia was represented by officials from the Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation and the Rosatom Service JSC and the Management Department of the Technical Academy.The delegation also spoke to the trainees from Bangladesh and got acquainted with the new technology used in the training, VVER 1200 power units and a visual prototyping 3D demonstration complex to demonstrate the nuclear power plant.At the end of the exhibition, Yafes Osman told the officials that many trainers of the technical academy have started their careers in nuclear power plants and they have a good idea about the technology. The combination of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills will play a helpful role in mastering such complex technologies.According to Rosatom, vaccinations have been confirmed for Bangladeshi students studying in Russia and more than 1,500 PCR tests have been performed. Special security arrangements were made for them during training at the nuclear power plant. At present, the training of Bangladeshi officials has been included in the construction schedule of the Rooppur nuclear power plant.At the bilateral meeting, Alexei Deriy, director of the Rooppur nuclear power plant construction project and vice-president of ASE JSC, said the process of sending trainees to Russia has now been resumed. It will now issue visas for their stay in Russia for the entire duration of their training. We also have to send training groups as per the schedule of the nuclear power plant construction project. We are now moving forward to coordinate all types of work. At the moment it is more important to have an improved schedule for the training of officers as per the EPC agreement.He said the meeting was focusing on training and methodological materials, documentation, a computer-based training system, posters and a complex information system for Rooppur nuclear power plant.Vsevolod Vityazev, director of the training project department at Rosatom Services JSC, said a major investment program was launched in 2018 to improve the quality of training of customer officers, repair classrooms, and modernize IT systems.He added that 170 new generation trainers are being prepared to train foreign students, many of whom have already started work. At the end of the year, all the training centers will have analytical and full-scale simulators built by JSC Rosatom Service's high-tech company JT (a subsidiary of JSC Rosatom Service).According to the trainers of Rosatom Technical Academy, the students of Bangladesh are educated, have an elegant mentality of getting higher education in their country and abroad.According to the results of the mid-term test, the average success of the experts at the Rooppur nuclear power plant is 95.5%.After the Aspisov meeting of the First Vice-Rector of the Technical Academy, Vladimir said that it has been exactly three years since Rosatom, the first group of Bangladeshis, came to this Technical Academy. All this time the managers of Bangladesh are watching the academy closely. This is extremely important for nuclear power plant officials during training.
